FREE! Take part in a series of 6 special spoken word poetry workshops

Wednesday 23 February, 2.30 – 4.45pm

Weekly from 23 February till 30 March 2022 (6 Weeks)

Following the success of last year’s workshops, Age UK Islington and Create are now bringing you a series of 6 Spoken Word Poetry workshops

Participants will work individually and in small groups to write words, ideas and stories to share & connect. There will be different writing activities each week exploring the imagination, observation, and mindfulness.

No experience of writing poetry is required. There are a limited number of places, and they will be booked on a first come, first served basis.

The session will have time for a short break in the middle. Participants should be able to attend all 6 sessions.

Host: Create is the UK’s leading charity enhancing wellbeing through the creative arts. Artist Emma McGordon will lead you through the activities. Emma is an award-winning poet, performer and community artist.

Benefits of attending:

  • Develop your interest in poetry.
  • Meet other Islington poetry enthusiasts.
  • Gain skills in various aspects of spoken word poetry – writing, reading, performance.
  • Cally Clock Tower Centre in Caledonian Park is a lovely setting for art activities.
  • Gain inspiration from the surrounding natural environment.
