Explore and recreate the heritage of Cally Park with a contemporary art theme!
Join an artist-led series of intergenerational workshops: researching and designing animal heads for 3D printing and installation on the railings around Cally Park.
Join us for a series of ten face-to-face Art Workshops that will be delivered by artist-educator Andrea Sinclair. She is a co-founder of artinthepark.co.uk and has a good understanding of how different people learn and how to keep sessions interesting and fun whilst conveying skills and knowledge.
Three of the cast iron animal heads that used to grace the railings of the park when the animal market was in operation are currently in the Islington Museum.
However, the heads that this project will create will reference the current animal population of Cally Park for inspiration eg birds, squirrels, dogs, cats, insects, amphibians etc.
Participants will have the opportunity to visit the 3D printing studio in Hackney and a hosted visit to Islington museum to see the original railing heads. This activity is for adults aged 50+ and will share some joint sessions with young people from Prospex.
